Prof Giorgio Della-Rocca
Prof. Giorgio Della Rocca is full Professor and Chair of Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine of the Medical School of the University of Udine at the University of Udine, Udine, Italy
He is in charge as Director and Chief of Anesthesia and Intensive Care of the University Hospital "Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria " of Udine, and as Director of the Residency programme of the same University Medical School.
Giorgio Della Rocca was graduated "cum laude" at the Medical School of the University of Rome "La Sapienza", in 1986. He received the residency in anesthesiology at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", in 1990. In the same year he was employed as a Researcher of the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine of the University of Rome "La Sapienza", where he has been working until June 2002. Since he has been involved in anesthesia and intensive care in major surgery, general thoracic surgery and organ transplantation (liver, kidney, pancreas, lung), with particular regards to clinical monitoring.

Academic Positions
2001 - Since February 2001 Dr. G. Della Rocca became Associate Professor of Anesthesia.
2002 - On July the 1st 2002 he moved from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" to the School of Medicine of the University of Udine, as Associate Professor, to became the Director of the Residency programme and the Director and Chief of The Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care of the University Hospital "Policlinico Universitario" of Udine, Italy.
2003 - Prof. G. Della Rocca, on march the 6th 2003, became full Professor of Anesthesia. The School of Medicine of the University of Udine included into the Staff the Prof. Della Rocca as a full Professor since the June 2003.
Actually He is in Charge as Director and Chief of The Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care of the University Hospital "Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria " of Udine, Italy and as Director of the Residency programme of the same University Medical School. He is teaching at the Medical School of the University of Udine, where he is teaching also in several residency programme (all the surgical specialities) and at the University Nursing School of the University of Udine.
Since 1995 he carried out several Clinical trials on muscle relaxants, sedative (dexmedetomidine), hemodynamic monitoring, deep venous thrombosis prophylaxis, liver transplantation, lung transplantations, early tracheostomy in ICU, new developments in muscle relaxant chelants – gammadextrine; according to GCP".
Prof. G. Della Rocca is a member of the following scientific society:
