Dr Nicholas Levy MB BS BSc FRCA

Nicholas graduated from the Royal Free Hospital in 1993 and undertook anaesthetic training in the Central London School of Anaesthesia . In 2003, he was appointed as a Consultant Anaesthetist at the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds, with an interest in critical care medicine. Nicholas's current job plan includes sessions in colo-rectal surgery; pre-operative assessment, critical care medicine and acute pain management.

One of Nicholas' special interests is the peri-operative management of the patient with diabetes undergoing surgery and their fluid management. Consequently he has co-organised the AAGBI seminars on the peri-operative management of the surgical patient with diabetes, as well as co-authoring an editorial on fluid management in patients with diabetes. He also co-authored the recent national NHS guidelines on the management of the surgical patient with diabetes.
