Jugdeep Dhesi

Jugdeep Dhesi trained in Leicester and the South East Thames region. Completed PhD examining the role of vitamin D in neuromuscular function in older people who fall.

Appointed Consultant Physician in General and Elderly Medicine in 2005 and has since been the clinical lead for the POPS (Proactive care for Older People undergoing Surgery) service. The POPS service has been recognised as an innovative, award winning service delivering high quality medical and multidisciplinary care to older elective and emergency surgical patients.

NCEPOD lead for the British Geriatrics Society, chair of POPS SIG at the BGS and council member of Age Anaesthesia Association. Research focuses on health service delivery, frailty and delirium.
