Ramani Moonesinghe

Ramani is Professor of Perioperative Medicine at UCL and works clinically at University College London Hospitals (UCLH). She is Director of the Health Services Research Centre (HSRC) at the Royal College of Anaesthetist (RCoA), and the NIHR funded Surgical Outcomes Research Centre (SOuRCe) at UCL/UCLH.

She is the 2018 RCoA Macintosh Professor and was the contemporary choice of the RCoA in the “Women in Medicine, a celebration” exhibition at the Royal College of Physicians. She is a former trainee Council Member of the RCoA and the current Associate National Clinical Director for elective care at NHS England. She is a Health Foundation Improvement Science fellow and leads the national Perioperative Quality Improvement Programme (www.pqip.org.uk) and the Sprint National Anaesthesia Projects for the HSRC, Royal College of Anaesthetists and UCL SOuRCe. She was previously academic training programme director for the London Academy of Anaesthesia and academic training coordinator for the National Institute for Academic Anaesthesia.

She lives in Sussex with her (very patient) husband Ed, an inventor, and (very active) children Zack and James.
